Doesn’t that sound nice? The first day of Spring is next week, we’ve been getting a taste of the beautiful days to come… And it hasn’t snowed in almost 4 whole weeks!!! =P
I don’t have any big news, I just wanted to get something new on the site and post a gratuitous cute-dog pic of Mowgli. I hope everyone is well and enjoying the warm days we’ve had, and I hope to see you soon!
Happy 2014, everyone! This is the Year of Green Wood Horse according to the Chinese calendar, hence the image of the Uffington Horse… Who, technically, is white, but there’s plenty of green in the picture ;-]
Many thanks for making the previous year a good one at Broad Street Massage. I hope everyone got some time to relax, and that you’re staying warm (I’ll have the table warmer running)!
Yes, I am a comic book-geek from wayyyyyy back:
L) to R): Matt Murdock (Daredevil), T’Challa (Black Panther), Ben Grimm (The Thing), and Darkseid (just really evil).
Personally, I’d have used Kurt Wagner, Ororo Munroe, Kitty Pryde, and one of the Sentinels, but I was always a die-hard fan of the Uncanny X-Men…
I know Hanukkah is weeks past, but today is Festivus, and Christmas and Kwanzaa are almost here. Regardless of how you celebrate this time of year, do it safely, stay warm, and enjoy your time with friends and family.
Remember that you can give the gift of massage this holiday season. You can send a gift card via snail mail by clicking here and scrolling down to the Gift Cards By Mail section. I’ll be shipping out cards until the morning of Christmas Eve. After that any gift cards will be mailed out Monday, December 30th.
If you’d like to send a gift certificate instantly, click here and have your gift sent via email. (There is an additional $5 charged on instant gift certificates to help offset the additional processing fees and charges.)
I hope everyone is ready to step out of 2013 and into a new year. I’m keeping my office warm, the table warmer is on, and I hope to see you soon!
Fall has been busy for me. Besides working with clients in my office, I spent Veteran’s Day working with a great local organization to provide a Day Of Pampering to female veterans. This is the second year I’ve participated in the event, and as long as I’m practicing on Broad Street, I’ll continue working with them.
I also got a request to donate a session for the Tails At Twilight Gala being held to support the Durham Animal Protection Society. When they asked, it was a no-brainer for me; one of the best things to come into my life was a result of visiting the APS (yeah, that’s him on the right).
I hope everyone gets to take a break during Thanksgiving, and I hope to see you soon!
Just a note to say that I’ve implemented my pricing changes. If you booked your session before November 1st and pay with a credit card, I’ll refund the price difference to reflect the pre-November pricing.
Hope to see you soon!
I’ve gotten rid of Google Wallet as a payment option. My initial plan was to keep it until October 31st, but it turns out I would have to transfer processing services to another provider for the last two weeks of the month. That hardly seemed worth it (new tax forms, linking accounts, yadda-yadada-yadda…), so I’m using PayPal exclusively now. You’ll see original pricing in the first PayPal menu, and below it will be the new prices. I’ll keep both up until 11/1/13, then move exclusively to the new rate structure.
“See ya’, Google!”
It’s finally happened: I got off my duff and got some website refurbishing done! I’ve changed the look a bit, updated some info, and added a payment option. I’ll be adding a few more things to the site, but for now here’s the important stuff:
Payment: I’ve added PayPal, which will become the only way to purchase sessions after October 31st of this year. As of November 1st I will no longer offer Google Wallet as a payment option (PayPal allows users to checkout with an account or as a guest).
Pricing: Rates will increase officially as of November 1st. The PayPal payment options reflect the new pricing. Until 11/1/13, I’ll keep current pricing available through Google Wallet.
Reviews: I tried disabling the automatic review request from GenBook, but I can’t without disabling reviews completely. Please feel free to ignore any subsequent requests for reviews from GenBook (after the initial one)… If GenBook eventually allows the option to cancel this feature I’ll change the settings.
I’ve added a 105-minute session… This bridges the gap between the 90-minute and 2-hour sessions.
I have some more things to finalize before I add them to the site, but I wanted to share the big stuff now.
Thanks for your time, and I hope to see you soon!
While Mo’ is busy catching loose balls from the Bulls ballpark, I’m trying to get things updated and streamlined before the summer is completely gone. I’ve updated the look of the site, changed pricing a bit (don’t worry, you’ve got time to adjust before it fully kicks in), and I’ll be attempting to add resources for folks to pursue on their own. Things will be shifting on the website over the next few days, so please be patient… You can always contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Stay tuned!
It’s been a busy Spring so far and my schedule has stayed pretty full. That will all be changing soon: as school wraps up for the Summer my schedule should open up markedly. You should be able to book same-day sessions much more easily as we move into the humid hazy days of a Carolina Summer. Things quiet down a bit in Durham when school lets out, and I for one am looking forward to more parking at Whole Foods, as well as being able to perform some of the long delayed updates I’ve been meaning to do for the website.
So remember, don’t get discouraged if you can’t find an appointment that works for you right now… Soon you’ll see much more availability in the schedule =)
Many thanks to everyone who’s been a part of keeping my schedule busy all Fall and Winter, and I hope to see you again soon!
